This guide takes you from a single CAD file to a web 3D model and a share link. When you sign up on the Free plan, you get 100 trial credits.
1. Sign up and verify your email
- On Start free, enter your name, work email and password, then agree to the terms.
- Enter the 6-digit code we email you. The code is valid for 10 minutes.
- Choose how you plan to use ALINK3D and your dashboard opens.
2. Upload a CAD file
- On the dashboard, click New project and choose the Convert CAD file tab.
- Drag in a STEP or IGES file, or click to browse. See Supported file formats for details.
- When the upload finishes, check the project name and the optimization level (start with Standard), then click Start conversion. Next to the button you'll see the credits to be used (20 credits for a CAD conversion) and your remaining balance.
3. Wait for the conversion
The conversion screen shows the progress of each step. The conversion keeps running even if you close the window, and if it takes longer than 3 minutes we'll email you when it's done. If it fails, your credits are returned automatically.
4. Polish it in the editor
When the conversion is done, the 3D editor opens. You can change part colors, hide parts, and create explode/assembly steps in one click with the explode template. See Apply the explode template. Changes are saved automatically.
5. Send the share link
Click Share at the top right of the editor to create a share link. Click Copy link and send it by email or chat — recipients can view the 3D model right in their browser without signing in. To control who can view it, see Visibility and password settings.
