When a CAD file is turned into web 3D, curved surfaces are split into triangles. The optimization level sets how fine those triangles are. You choose it in the New project window, and the credits are the same for every level.
Three levels
| Level | When to use | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Standard (recommended) | Most cases | A balance of quality and file size. Start with this level |
| High-quality curves | Many curved surfaces that will be viewed up close | Smoother curves, but larger files that take longer to open |
| Lightest (mobile) | Large assemblies, or mostly viewed on phones | The smallest file that opens fastest. Curves may look faceted up close |
How to choose
- If a conversion fails because there are many parts (time or memory limit) or takes long to open, use Lightest.
- If curve quality matters for marketing, use High-quality curves.
- If you're not sure, use Standard.
Changing the level
For a project whose conversion failed, you can change the level with Change optimization and retry (10 credits, no need to upload the original again). The optimization level isn't applied to the GLB file for download.
